Hi, I'm Katie!

My interest in coding first sparked when I learned about Scratch at elementary school. I soon dove into making my own mini games, and I had so much fun creating all the art and code. I especially enjoyed the visual and creative aspect of designing my games and considering how people would interact with my projects.

In college, I got involved in hands-on engineering education through becoming an instructional assistant for an Intro to ECE course and joining the student organization Project in a Box (PiB), which develops project kits for teaching various engineering concepts. I became president of PiB during my last two years of my undergrad, and I grew my leadership skills as I rebuilt our student org post-Covid. I coordinated and planned technical workshops, K-12 outreach programs, and other events with my officer board. It was exciting to see PiB grow from a small group of students to over 100 students attending our events!

In my free time, I enjoy traveling to new places with friends and exploring a variety of hobbies, including crochet, macrame, wheel throwing, hiking, and playing musical instruments. I also enjoy bullet journaling, which was the inspiration behind my website's design!
